Back Door on my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't Open. Help!?

So like 6 months ago, I began having trouble with the latch that opens the back door/trunk/hatchback of my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I would pull the handle, and the door would feel jammed and wouldn't open. To solve this problem, all I had to do was put pressure on the left side of the door as i opened, and that worked for a little while, however now nothing will open it. Could someone tell me how to fix it, or what parts I would need to replace and where to get em???
