Hi, and welcome to the board. I would advise you to see 2-3 specialists including an orthopedic spine specialist and a neurosurgeon who specializes in the spine. You can then be better informed to make a decision that is right for you.

There is no medication that will help with healing a disc in any way. However, physical therapy might be of benefit, if it is recommended to you by a specialist. You didn't say what kind of symptoms you are having, where the pain is, or what kind of pain you have, which would be helpful. What kind of dr. have you seen who ordered the MRI? Has he explained anything to you or made any recommendations?

Doing research on the web will give you lots of information on the cervical spine and will arm you so that you can better communicate with the specialist you see. Understanding what is going on is part of being a good advocate for yourself.

I hope you will stay in touch and let us know how it is going.

Carol
