My dermatologist was rather unhelpful in this department. (In fact, he was pretty useless until he gave me my Accutane prescription...but that's another story.)

He had prescribed me an antibiotic, and a whole slew of products to use on my face, but I was still concerned about my back. He prescribed me a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash for my back to use in the shower. They sell that type of stuff over the counter. Unless your acne is bad enough for him to put you on orals, you can probably save time, money and effort by just picking out some products at the drugstore. (If you do use a benzoyl peroxide wash, you are supposed to let it sit on your back for 3 minutes before washing it off. It does bleach your towel too...so either use a white one...or just get a gross towel that you can use for the duration of your treatment and then dispose of.)

I have heard that if you to like facials with avacado or mud mask that can work really well i have used it before

I used to get it alot, I tried many things. They will work for a while and then go back to normal. I just left it alone and they went away. I started taking spiro and minocycline about a month ago , I dont know if that helped but it cleared my face and my arm acne also. I will suggest not doing anything to it. Just showering and moisturize for a while and dont pick it also and see what happens.

I've had an absolute nightmare with this, very severe, just lucky that it's all over my back and not on my face otherwise I would be screwed.

I'm on Roaccutane currently (prescribed by my derm), nearly half way through and doing a decent job so far, getting quite dry lips though, which hurt.

One simple thing that worked for me was making sure the shampoo and conditioner was completely washed off in the shower. Sometimes I would be in a hurry and there was still a small trace of conditioner residue on my upper back and that would cause back acne. I also started taking 2 showers a day and that has really helped with back acne.

i got it in a cronic way all my life the only thing that will fix it is accutane. if you have cystic acne then dont bother with other stuff. you need to stop the amounts of oil your glanRAB are producing (way more than normal) and open the pours in your skin to help it clean up. accutane is the only thing that can do this. see your Dermo and do exactly what he says. this stuff is potent and not to be messed with. it will work..

I learned about this years ago here on these boarRAB. I was having a problem with back acne, and someone said something about hair conditioner causing breakouts. So, I use a back scrubby after I rinse my hair, and then I after I'm out of the shower I use astringent (on a little cotton pad) and wipe it on my back.
