Baby rats? What do they eat?

My friend just came by and dropped off a baby rat, it's old enough that it doesn't need its mothers milk anymore...but what else do I give it? She said fruit and water...but so much sugar? Really? Help?

My brother had baby rats and they were so cute! Anyways, fruit won't hurt them and they like cheese and crackers bits. Water is fine.
