I have two 1 and a half moth old percula clown fish. This is the second night I've had them. They are at the top of the tank on their sides like they are dead. I woke them up and they just started swimming like normal. This happened both nights. Is this normal? Are they sick or just playing dead? Please help!

You should test your water. . . my clownfish usually goes to a bottom corner when he sleeps. . . dont be scaring them when they are sleeping either!

Basically it is a normal response. When fish rest, even more so on newer fish, they will go to where they feel safe and for clowns they will typically go to the corner of the aquarium as it has two sides of glass which they can feel safer.

They will eventually grow out of this stage but clownfish will "host" in random things. In no way am i telling you to get an anemone but clownfish will sometimes host in the corner of the aquarium.

It is very common and nothing to worry about.
