My three favourite characters 
All are villains, but yeah. There's a love triangle betewen these three - who would you prefer to see Veirra with, personally? (It won't sway the plot, I know what's going to happen and why, but want your opinions).

Zethy ^.^ The first seven years of his life were riddled with sickness and agony, which were abolished when he joined the "evil guys" and was named as their prince. He hates humans with a passion, seeing them as primitive and mindless. As a result, he can be merciless in thought and act.
HOWEVER, I wanted him to have a kind streak. He cares deeply about his people, and doesn't mind flirting a little with the girls (who are absolutely captivated by the prince). In the end, he ends up with a human girl.
Classic line: "I own everything from the southern shore to the northern border, spanning from the marshes to the east and the cliff-coast to the west. Everything beyond my horizons will soon be mine, too."

He's a complete goofball, and the embarrassment of his cousin Zeth. Though he does care about his cousin, he's not exactly a strong character...the second he decides that Veirra is a cutie, he's straight into "flirt" mode. When Zeth finds out about the affair, he tries to have Jarret executed. Though Jarret survives, Zeth punches him in the throat and fractures Jarret's larynx, rendering him unable to speak.
Classic line: "You're pretty. I like pretty girls. I like you."
(Oh, and Jarret isn't meant to be as good-looking as the model. He's fairly plain, actually. But the lip-ring and the eyes are an exact replia of his features.)

Zeth's love interest, Veirra is a spiteful cow who will tread on anyone to get what she wants. Around Zeth, she's suddenly very sweet and devoted. Zeth finds her alluring because she's a very strong character who will do whatever it takes to please him (reow!), whilst his cousin Jarret likes her for the simple matter that he finds her completely gorgeous and thinks she deserves better than Zeth (who has a tendency to ignore her - he's used to the company of pretty girls).
Classic line: "You call me a hag? You're one to talk, you dog-faced sack of wasted skin and organs."
~ This is a sub-plot to the main theme, by the way. It's not a romance novel, it's a fantasy novel with a romantic sub-plot
