if you live in a Tri-Band/AWS market, you can only use a cricket tri-band/aws phone on your account

please stop posting about your mogul, moto Q, treo, etc. etc. etc. and saying how it does not get signal, or you only reach verizon towers

if you put a non-roaming prl and your device can only search for signal, and then you try a roaming prl and your device gets signal but only form verizon, then you are in a tri-band area and cannot use your flashed phone unless you wanna roam

you should already know what type of market you are in...this is not "Rocket Surgery"

it is really easy to go to www.mycricket.com and find out about your market before you post and ask questions

thank you

"Rocket Surgery" ROFL thats a good one ill need to remeraber this one, and yes your right, also a sidenote to AWS peeps, you can only use AWS phones and only CDMA AWS phones out there are MetroPCS phones. so you can only flash those, but for the most part Cricket and Metro have the same AWS phones.

yeah... it's why i put it in my sig. i tend to post a lot, although i'm definately not the most knowledgable meraber on flashing, but it still gets asked all the time.. it will never end...

Hahaha simple3 you have a sig ??? I must be a noob cause i dont think i read anyone's sig lol ;)
just kidding Keep bumping this thread up after a while i will make it a sticky all though i will need to change a few things random ;)

"If your phone does not have the "tri-band" syrabol on the back, you can still use your phone in our Cricket unlimited coverage areas. However, when you travel outside of these coverage areas, you will need nationwide roaming minutes to use your Cricket phone. This is not a reduction in coverage and no different than how your Cricket service currently works."

So this should actually be worded as

""If your phone does not have the "tri-band" syrabol on the back, you can still use your phone in our Cricket NON TRIBAND unlimited coverage areas."

IE if you have a dual band phone on cricket working in say California and you fly to philly it will not work? ie you would need roaming to make it work?

Why are they using this stupid triband tech and not just using the normal dual band frequencies? I was really stoked about cricket till I hit this. Same stinking problem with metro pcs Grrrr

Say thanks to the other cell phone companies that already own all the spectrum in the AWS markets. ex. sprint and verizon.

Cricket won the spectrum in a auction, and figure that a market that is AWS is better than no market.

ahh so this is actually a third band a new frequency IE sprint verizon phones are by hardware physically incapable of working in these area's without roaming.

Damn that sucks.

Yep.. Pretty much.. But the good news is, is that verizon and sprint also bought into the aws band, so eventually they will be telling manufactures to make tri-band phones also :)

didnt they get AWS 700Mhz and they are going LTE anyway, well VZW is Sprint is doing there own Sprint Thing, so yeah, i dont see them making any AWS phones and if they do its going to be 700Mhz

VZW= LTE
Sprint = Random WiMax Random stuff

If the manufactures were smart, they would just include 1700 & 2100 Mhz into there phones. I am sure that verizon or sprint would benefit from signing roaming agreements with cricket :).
