"The UTStarcom CDM-7126 recently cleared the FCC's approval process. This is the first phone to support CDMA 850/1900 and 1700 AWS banRAB, making it the first tri-band CDMA phone. This phone can be used by carriers such as Cricket, MetroPCS and US Cellular, which all have AWS spectrum purchased in the 2006 auction. Otherwise, the 7126 is a basic clamshell similar to the 7125. It has Bluetooth, but only indicator lights on the outside rather than an external display. It is limited to 1xRTT data. No release date or pricing information is available yet, and no carriers have stated that they will carry this phone." - PhoneSchoop and Cricket People

Based on that i think they just might retake most of there phones in there line up and just remake them and add the 1700, So far the people ive talked too have not said anything about the Los V area and what phone they are getting. What do you guys think? Also what do you think cricket is going to do about the rest of us? will they start to make us get new hand sets?

So there won't really be a way to use other carrier's phones in Las Vegas, ya?

I go to Vegas quite a bit and it's pretty disappointing that I'll be roaming when I'm sitting in a Cricket market...

all phone coming out on cricket after the calcomp j88b jade will be aws. the vegas launch has been pushed back a few months due to spectrum clearing issues, so it is now a strong possibility we will see more than one phone at launch. i'm leaning towarRAB samsung and utstarcom as (according to my sources) there are no kyoceras slated for launch in the near future.

On a side note regarding new phones... cricket has apparently decided not to go the PDA route and instead will work on developing an application based email solution for upcoming hanRABets, or a phone focused aroung emails (more than the lingo). but no full pda phone in the near future.

I dont i guess my guy dont know what he is talking about, but then again, i have learned to trust but verfile when i see it lol, he said there network will be up in Mid Feb and there not going to do the grand thing until March thats what he said, im still waiting for his email, but then again that wont mean much cause dates are alwasy changed etc, and He did also state about a real PDA thats in the works and that they are beta testing, however he said the way cricket has done things they will most likly kill it, and yeah your right you will be in a cricket area and be romaing, but back in the day thats how it use to be, so i was told that cricket phones in one market could not go into another market and work, i do remeber telling the rep that, that was durab but that wa slike 6 or 7 years ago lol. I think they are going to make some kind of deal with VZW for that area, like of like you rub my back ill rub yours type of thing.
