Avp-r

The rubber (latex) body suits were one of the things they wanted to include from the Aliens film. They felt it was a lot more genuine to how the Aliens should be portrayed.

AVP:R is a good high octane action movie but if you are a fan of the Alien films in particular there are lots of WTF moments, unless the time line is screwed up and days have become hours, hours have become minutes, etc a lot of things just don't make sense.

I'm heading off now to the cinema to see it. Can't wait. I'm going purely for the gore and action, the storyline doesn't really matter much to me. These type of films usually can't get a story that good anyway, so bring on the action!

I saw AvP-R on wednesday and even though I didn't go in with high hopes, I was still somewhat disappointed.
It started off promising, but then dengenerated into a generic slasher pic with aliens.
As has been mentioned earlier, many scenes were just too dark, especially the pred/predalien fight.
Most of the characters were underdeveloped, especially the army chick.
Overall it seemed like a wasted opportunity to me. I'm sure the running time was barely 90 mins, so hopefully a directors cut is in the offing on dvd. There's def a scene or 2 in the early trailers that didnt make the final cut.
I hope this series is laid to rest now, and then maybe in a few years they can think about making a new Alien film, and bring the scares and tension back.

Heh, I really liked it. It wasn't upto the brilliance of either of the Predator movies or Aliens, but it was certainly enjoyable stuff.

The main players (the Aliens and Predator) were as they should be. Sneaky, scary and vicous (Aliens) and double-hard stylish flashyness (Predator).

The supporting cast (the humans) were weak, but I didn't go to see them anyhow! I was rooting for the Predator all the way, as I always am. :D

It wasn't anywhere near as bad as some people have suggested - good action scenes, neat predator weapons and for me there was a little bit more background to the whole Alien/Predator storyline filled in such as
the appearance of Ms Yutani at the end, co-founder of Yutani-Weyland Corporation and obviously the start of their collaboration with the Government on bio-weapons.

i saw this and didn't mind it. true some of the dialogue was AWFUL ('she's had a rough day' - NO SH*T SHERLOCK) and characterisation was perfunctory at best, BUT...i did get a kick from seeing the aliens in modern day america, they are genuinely nightmarish.

too much stolen from Aliens (even some of the sound effects) though.

also - the bit with the pregnant women...contender for the most distastful thing i have ever seen i think?

Exactly what Tremse said, nowhere near as bad as people were making it out to be. It did what it said on the tin. I also like the little noRAB to each of the previous films. Also, I remember seeing a scene that was officially released online that didn't make it into the theatrical version of the film so the DVD must contain lots of deleted scenes as the scene I am referring to would help explain how some characters appear at certain place in the film with no warning or build up to it. Can't wait for the DVD.

My only drawback was that the film seemed very dark and it was hard to fully see what was going on all the time. As a result, you never really got a good look at the Aliens or Predator or Predalien enough to fully see how good the costumes were. Seems a shame for them to have put so much effort into the special effects and make-up only for it to be hardly seen in any real detail.

Went to see it last night - not really impressed.

Overall I walked away with the impression that this was just another teen slasher gore fest movie - albeit with aliens instead of your usual murderer/pissed off teen/psychopath.

Load of rubbish, on par with the first one. I dont think its possible to make a decent movie with a Predator AND an Alien in it with humans running around too.

Terrible acting, terrible story, way to dark to see any of the fights, The Alien/Predator cross thing was stupid and didnt serve a purpose.

1/5

Im a big big fan of AVP, liked the first one but saw this when i was in Canada over the xmas hols...it actually opened there on xmas day :p.

Was looking forward to seeing but ill be honest...It was a pile of steaming dog crap...what an awful awful sequel to the original one. Why the fcuk they had to get the stupid humans involved is beyond me...seemed like they wanted to concentrate more on the humans rather than the Predalien and Predator himself...the nuking of the town in the end was stupid...utterly stupid.

Shockingly crap movie and id suggest people to stay away from it..save your

hmm i dont agree with alot on here, it was not as bad as people are stating in my eyes, however i went into the film with the expectation that it was going to be better than the first. and personally it was! hanRAB down i believe

it may have had something to do with the comedy myself and frienRAB were adding in
