Avenged Sevenfold

I believe this band has gotten a bad wrap, but I think it's mostly because of their last two albums; City of Evil and the self titled album that came out last year.

I love this band, but their last two albums have pretty much been a disappointment, more so the self titled one from last year.

Thoughts? Any other A7x fans?

Corrected me? right. You don't have to explain to me how you can be childish, I picked that up some time ago. You should listen to more metal if you think this band is anything special. I would rather delegate my A7X listening to someone who likes them. I'm merely speaking from past experience when I comment on this band.



If that's some kind of competition to determine who's more flaming then I think it would be in my best interest to retreat.

They can have different aspects and traits from different genres, and not be classified as 'metal'.
Creativity is a great thing, mixing elements fun, try not to be so straightforward in your judgement of music.
Open minRAB leave room for growth and understanding.

i believe you sir are the douche bag.

the reason there is no screaming on the new album is because m shadows ruined his vocal chorRAB by screaming so much. the band had to changed their style somewhat to compensate for this.

so sure, maybe waking the fallen was a better album than city of evil, but the way they compensated for shadows loosing his voice i think requires skill, and they did it nicely.

know about stuff before you bitch about it.
 
Comparing those two is a disgrace IMO.
Megadeath have had a series of great albums, and they have had a consistent success when making great songs. AV7X is just cheesy, Even some of their older stuff was too but City Of Evil was beyond cheesy.
And Megadeath has accomplished so much more than AV7X, Comparing these two is liek comparing Guns N' Roses to Nirvana....(bad comparison but you get my point.)

and murder junkie....i agree with what you said. except that waking the fallen wasnt a good album. maybe its because it was the first album of theirs that i hear, but i think it was solid. on everything else, including the statements on sounding the seventh trumpet...i agree.
 
I like Avenged Sevenfold, they are a really good band. Their music and lyrics are meaningful in a kinda dark way and I think that M Shadows is a really cool guy..I'm interested about this point, some of you may know about it but apparently Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold totally and utterly hate each other but if you had to choose between Atreyu and A7X, who would it be?
 
Metal not musical? Wow, i've always thought of metal as one of the most musical rock sub-genres. Screaming your guts out and having a good time is more of punk/hardcore thing IMO and rock isn't falling apart at all, I live near seattle and I could name a bunch of artists from that area alone that are good. Avenged Sevenfold aren't even that good, and they're more talk then action.
