Avatar: The Last Airbender #3: "Air, water, earth, fire... fan and sword!"

I'm probably the last person who should answer the "Zu-zu" question on account of me not being much of a Zuko fan and all. But even though he doesn't physically reflect the part, I'm hoping Dev can nail the complexity and angst of the firey prince. I'm also wondering if the scar in those pics posted before will be more prominent in the movie. I wonder many things about the movie. Alot of it being nervous wondering.

Welcome BTW. In case you haven't posted here before. :) Come post more often!

^ Thanks! :D Naked Jeff is always a good thing. (BTW, Is that Daniel and Emma dancing in your current icon? Because the icon is beautiful!)

Meanwhile, there's a 3rd trailer out which is more or less the same as the first 2 but with I think 3 scenes we haven't seen yet. (And I think we finally get to hear Aang speak near the end. But we don't see it. :pout:)

Also, The Nick KiRAB Choice AwarRAB is coming soon and you can bet they'll be mentioning The Last Airbender movie on the show. (In fact, I think some of the stars will be there. I'm pretty sure I saw a commercial with the actress playing Katara practicing her "slime-bending". :P) So now I wonder if I should watch it or not. I haven't tuned into Nickelodeon since ATLA ended.

^I noticed that too. I don't think he showed up once which is weird since he's probably an actor people would recognize.
But Sokka and Katara aren't that promoted either. Did you see Appa though? He appears when the guy says "in a world consumed by darkness" you can see him in the top left hand corner!

Oh my gosh the ship wars *groans* Its gets nasty sometimes, on both sides, and now that the canon ships have been recognized, we kind of get the short stick sometimes :sigh: But yes, I love Harmony too  It also describes Harry and Hermione's relationship and how harmoniously they work together

Why are you boycotting NBC? Does this have to do with Conan? :look:

Oh my gosh I can't wait for the screencaps :yay: I know that there were definitely characters that I missed. I wonder if MoMo shows up anywhere! :goof:

^ It's because FOX has no idea how to handle movies like that. I heard horrible reviews about the DBZ movie - they're not faithful enough to the original to please the fans of the anime but the movie is too bizarre to appeal to a manistream audience.

Bleh. Even if we did get M.Night as a director, I'm pretty sure we didn't get FOX. I couldn't stand to see if it FOX got their hanRAB on it. (Yes I have a bit of a grudge with that network/film corporation.)

How did true DBZ fans react to the news of the live action DBZ movie, anyway? I wonder if they were more upset when we found out about our own cartoon getting the live action treatment...

^I completely understand..Hestia? is that you? :goof:

Yea, there's major backlash going around. But I don't know if this Jesse McCartney thing is true. I mean, I assume that the movie is going to take a lot of time, and he's just become a regular on the show Greek.

I have no idea. I haven't really looked. Best bet would be the Sci-Fi board. It really is a great show. Everything about it is fantastic. Have you watched their panel from Comic-Con? It gives some great insight into the show.

On an Avatar related note, I realized that I don't really have much memory of Book 3. :( I need to go back and rewatch.

^Hestia did you see the finale yet!?! It was just :thud: for me. but everyone you expect to survive...survives

Anyway, back on topic:
Definitely do not want a dragonball repeat  The special effects look amazing. But special effects are not what makes a movie  I just can't get over the fact that DEV is ZUKO and not SOKKA. :heaRABlap:

The people chosen to portray our fave Avatar group in the live action movie depresses me. :pout: I'm not really a Zuko fan (as you all know) but I flipped out when I heard the Jesse McCartney thing.

And I'm not really a Twilight fan (extreme fangirls annoy me) so the Sokka choice didn't exactly please me either.

Must stay positive though. *sigh*

We'll get a photo of the cast around June? Cool! Hopefully it's around the time of my birthday. That would be a nice present. (Unless the casting looks all wrong. Then that present would suck. :pout:)

Even though they said they'd be involved, and evem though M. Night said he'd try and stay faithful to the original, I can see why you'd be worried. I'm worried too. *sigh*

Meanwhile Shaun Taub is Uncle Iroh? Umm... o-kay. (He'll need to gain some weight for that role.) If I start nitpicking all the inaccuracies on the casting, I'd never stop. :P (Wait, they've got a Daily Show correspondent as Admiral Zhao?! ...Okay, that's pretty cool, I must admit.)

Nothing can kill Avatar fanaticism! :D (Oh, you've still got an avatar icon! Very lovely.)

Well, technically Avatar is the name of a cartoon. But it's an honest mistake, and I actually had a little sigline comparing the two meanings a while back. But since I have a few minutes to spare, here's a simple icon, which I hope you like.

Now I'll head over to the fanart thread to see if they could use my help.

(Hmm, I wonder if we can lure more people here, and get more posts, by offering cartoon avatar request services. :smirk:)

Actually, I'm boycotting that over-promoted movie because they stole our title. :P

I don't know if we discussed it a while back but Cameron's movie was apparently in the works for a long time and they were using the title 'Avatar' so Shyamalan's movie based on our favorite cartoon had to drop the word 'Avatar' from it's title lest they get sued by Cameron's people.

Our movie, 'The Last Airbender' is coming out next year. I'm still anticipating news about the purported full-length Christmas trailer. :)

Well that was obvious...way to have common sense Stacey :heaRABlap: I saw something of the sort Nicktoons, but wasn't interested enough to watch through the whole thing

Ugh, same here! I didn't even want Jimmy to survive. Talk about having nine lives  In fact, I wanted Abby/Sully  :look:
I wanted to add Henry to my faves...but I didn't want to spoil anything :lmao: But yes, when it was revealed, I was just :jaw_drop:
I felt so sorry for Trish and Sully :( Why do the best characters always have to die? :sigh:

no new news huh, i guess this will be a long wait!

allison chains i just finished 'being human' a couple of weeks ago, i love it!! and i especially love that scene you have there in the icon. i'm not that into the vampire craze going on but at least this series is good. :) is there a thread some where here on fanforum for the show?
