So there are people calling the new movie by James Cameron anything from Racist to warning againt the worshiping of tree's and nature by the pope. Now I do realize that movie like this can have a strong political message and I can understand some people debating amongst themselves, but for the media to get in on it?
First of all, if anything there is no racial bias in this movie at all. Why? What does it show? A human taking the side of the little guy. I mean if anything the Avatars or whatever they are called could be compared to native Americans. So where is the racial bias? An article stated that if the hero was black then there would be no problem, but I mean come on, Really? I thought we were past this? How are we ever going to forward if we are always crying racial bias where none exist. Talk about the media keeping racism alive.
You can't appease everyone. So my message to the media. Do your jobs.Your job and freedom of the press has a responsibility to report and expose our leaders so we can make informed decisions. Not tell me why Avatar is a great or bad movie.
As for the Vatican I thought you guys were suppose to be well rounded in the idea of make believe. Maybe this make believe story is somehow a threat to your make believe story.
This is my point. It is a movie, Its not real, and it is a great form of escapism for who ever wants to watch it.
Video games, movies, radio, all do not cause someone to go out and actually cause violence, worship, or racism.
In case you missed got through all this and are wondering what my question is? Look at the beginning I am asking how Avatar has inspired such bias on real social issues?
