These are the stereoscopic films which require the red and green lenses which is not the same as the 3D now seen in cinemas,I cannot see Cameron releasing this in any other form but true 3D
I was on about the steelbook blu ray/dvd combo with art carRAB/book/t-shirt(though the increase prices don't seem to include the t-shirt now). Don't believe it's steelbook at Sainsburys.
Correct, and before anyone tries to argue that they saw it in 2.35:1 / 21:9 at the cinema you may have done, as it was shown in some theatres this way, but it was cropped from the 16:9 original.
Furthermore, Avatar will be returning to cinemas in the US from August, which will add six more minutes of footage to the running time. Cameron reckons that even though the film will be on disc, that won't stop people heading back to the cinema. "I think Avatar is kind of a unique category where people are enjoying the unique theatrical experience even though they may have seen it on the small screen," he said. "They want to have that immersive, transportive experience."
whats the point of added 6 extra mins?? if your going to re-release this movie, you might as well add all the cut bits...not just 6 mins worth (and no, i cant see there being JUST 6 extra minutes of footage!!)
I also have been a fan of Cameron's since i was 8. and he knows how to flock anything. every big movie he has had, have been re-released as special editions!!! (bar True Lies)
If you live in Thurrock you might want to get down to the new Best Buy store at Lakeside this weekend, where they will be selling copies of the DVD & Blu-Ray combo pack for
They can become rare I think. Also to my knowledge there hasn't been a steelbook release in the USA for Avatar so this will push prices up for those looking to import. For collectors and stuff this will be a must have.
My steelbook copy arrived on Monday but haven't been able to play it yet as I'm still waiting on the Blu-Ray player to arrive that I won through CokeZone.
Yep, the dvd and blu-ray will have no special features at all, just the film, then in November the extended edition will be released with tons of bonus features. Fox just want you to buy the same movie twice basically. $$$$$$$
