What exactly is avant-garde? I've seen the term a few times but never applied to a specific band the only time was when I downloaded a Kayo Dot album the genre was avant-garde.

I agree. Not that I have much pull here, considering how new I am. But people who like avant-garde music tend to like a variety of point-of-origin kinRAB of it. It would be nice to give them one place to talk instead of spreading it around between a bunch of different forums.
