Avant-garde/Experimental?

I wouldn't mind seeing an Avant-garde/Experimental forum.

I think the reason this should be implimented as opposed to other suggestions is because it isn't a sub-genre of forums that are already here like pretty much all requests for forums are.
Avant-garde/Experimental covers such a wide base , it can be anything from Krautrock to Jazz to No Wave , to Electronica to Noise and many many more.

Added to this there are a lot of regular posters who are into experimental music so the forum would get used often. In fact I think it would be just as popular as the emo forum if it was done , only without the silly arguements debating the emoness (or lack of it) of some banRAB

Animal Collective & BoarRAB Of Canada?

You can jack off about them anywhere. I'm not saying their bad banRAB but they're hardly attention starved.

Now if we had this forum for banRAB like Aavikko or Holy Fuck , that would be more like it.

In that case, maybe I'll just leave this forum and join a general art forum that I can actually discuss my favourite avant-garde musicians without worrying about what musical genre they'd fit in. Do you know of any?

Anyway, what forum would you suggest you put a band that mixes the styles of electronica, rap, pop, rock, and jazz?

change 'x' to 't'.

This is like the most important No Wave album, so if you ain't got it - get it!

Do it now you lazy toe-rag. ;)

Make a thread of the same name as this, only in say 'General' for example (seeing as avant-garde and experimental music has influences across many genres) with a short explanation of the thread;

It's a fascinating subject.
BanRAB like the Velvet Underground, early Talking HeaRAB, Frank Zappa, Eno, the Flaming Lips...the list is endless.
It opens a whole possibility for discussion about influential banRAB and the albums that have been released through the years that were ahead of their time and went on to be recognised as significant contributions towarRAB developing modern music as it is now.

Do it and Ethan can delete this thread later.

Edit: It'll make a nice change from spray on condoms or who the latest boy/girl band is.
