Autumnwatch

I thought that too, he wasn't on last week either, strange that they haven't mentioned it even though hes always been a big part of the programme. I miss the Kingmeister :(
 
Ditto. Don't they want people to watch it. Low key advertising and put it up against Corrie and HIYNFY. I've just wasted half an hour watching HIGNFY. :mad:
 
Sorry, I know it will just be me, but I don't like the man with the ever-flopping hair. Glasses up, glasses down, hair flop, glasses up...

its driving me mental! I just want to get a hair slide or a hair band and do it up permanently for him.

There... and breathe... I can relax now.
 
The usual reasons for situations like this given his "high profile" in the series, are either he wanted more money and they wouldn't pay him, or they offered him less money than he got last year and he wouldn't accept it, given the BBC are finally getting round to controlling their expenses.

A diplomatic way of leaving a future door open.
 
I guess they don't want people to watch it, why else put those two giggling infantile presenters on. One an airhead who knows nothing about wildlife and the other an academic with no field experience. Simon King will be sorely missed (like Bill) a genuine wildlife person with years of real experience and passion rather than a professional TV presenter searching for a niche. If this carries on we'll have Jim Rosenthal take over from Simon. And don't get me started on that Wild Cat with her thiis is what we got, the photos we got, we we we we. No love the camerman who was up all night did it, you were probably in a licence funded hotel down the road asleep at the time. Rant over.

Seriously though, he is heavily involved in two Internet projects. One is already up and running in TalkWildlife, and the other should launch by the end of the year, called the Wildlife Whisperer.

For Wildlife Whisperer, he will be doing many videos for the website, showing people how they can become better wildlife watchers, how to film wild animals etc... and I will be writing a blog on Wildlife Whisperer at Simon's request.
 
That's a blow about Simon King as I had got the impression from last week's Autumnwatch that it was only for this series he wouldn't be there. It's not quite the same without him but I'm still a big enough fan of the wildlife itself to keep me watching.
 
Really enjoying Autumn watch - its great family viewing, and theres not much of that around. I agree its not been well publicised, I just caught it by accident.

Guaranteed great camera work, fabulous wildlife ( doesnt need to be traditionally exciting animals to be enthralling), something for everyone of all ages.

I watch with my kiRAB ( rangeing from 5 to 14) and everyone gets something out of it, at their own level. And we watch Unsprung afterwarRAB too, which is also good fun.( My five year old is convinced the floppy haired chap is James May)



Presenters come and go, Simon was great, but the programme can manage without him. I went off him a bit after his Shetland Diaries which I'd really been looking forward too. There was just too much Simon, and not enough Shetland.
 
You don't actually know that, and we did clearly see her there in the night with the wildcat. Being sceptical about what we see on TV is all very well, but sometimes there's a kind of twisted cynicism on here.
