Auto Tune or Dyno?

my pc 5 was purchased from dynojet , right after this i realized i could have got it from fuelmoto, so sorry about that one jamie. but with that said all i did after getting it was download the maps from web site, went with a map they suggested since my exact setup wasnt on there.now im sure bike would prob run even better with a dyno or fine tune but for now this thing is running cooler and badass.sorry to hear you had trouble. i would work with fuelmoto some more, since what i read on hear sounds like they are a top notch company to me with folks that know what they are doing.

Jamie and keith at fuel moto have been great. Ive had some problems getting the power commander 5 dialed in also but were getting closer every time. Keith has sent me 4 or 5 maps and allways within a few minutes after talking with him. Mines has some sputering and sometimes a pop with a slow roll on in low gear. Also has a ping sometimes at about 2500 rpms with a quick roll on. Were still working on it as ive had one of the problem childs. Mines a 103 triglide with woods t6 cams and slip on thunderheaders. Also a screamin eagle air cleaner and fuel moto head pipe. Fuel Moto seems to care more than any other company Ive delt with. Been riding since the 60s and by far Fuel Moto is the best all around I have found.

I have been a Fuelmoto customer twice with great satisfaction. Top notch customer service and additional free maps as you make changes to you bike.

I think one thing that has been left out is that having an aftermarket tuner like the PC allows you to change maps when looking for the right combination of headers, pipes, etc. It also allows you to run two different maps if needed.

It's all a learning curve as I'm finding out. As previously stated, I have a PCV and recently took my bike in for a dyno tune. I guess I wasted $$$$ according to that one poster. . It does run very well now so that mney was well spent IMO.

If I had a kick ass dyno tuner near by then that may sway me in that direction but an autotune is consistent and independent of the kind of day the tuner at the dyno shop is having when he tunes your bike....

iclick, you have much more patience and diplomacy than I do!!! For the first couple of posters who think that money spent on a fuel management system is a waste, I hope your ignorance is bliss. And for anybody that wants to bad-mouth Jamie on this web-site, you're barking up the wrong tree. I don't envy Jamie, for all of the absolutely great stuff he does here he'll get one or two ignorant f-ers that will come here and talk trash and badmouth him and his company and it's got to feel like it voids all of the very satisfied customers you've got. I'm here to tell you Jamie, IT'S NOT TRUE, as you should know, you've got several thousand loyal fuelmoto customers, and I (we) will continue to use your services. I know you can't say it here, but you know how many ignorant people there are out there that shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard!

got my sert upgaded to a tts(100$) this will allow me to change stuff myself and at least get down the road with a bike thats close to tuned? then I can try the vtune feature,i have no problem memorizing the manuel. to get very close..now i can save up for a dyno?

Sorry you are having problems but I am one of these people that got a power commander and the right map. Also got the AT later and it improved the map. One thing I enjoy about my Harley and the Power Commander is the ability to make it mine. I love to just mess with the power commander and other settings on the bike. I can change my bike at any time without going to someone with a Dyno. Also if I need help I call FM.

The learning I have achieved from iclick and others on the forums has been priceless. Also I call Jamie all the time for advice to make her just a little better. It is so hard for someone to troubleshoot on the phone and sometimes we just don't ask the questions the correct way. Rarely due you find anyone with the patience to help us with issues on the phone. I appreaciate what Jamie and Fuel Moto have done for me and I am not alone!
