Auto post images/ auto display new images/ show images in folder on website?...

...HTML/XHTML/JAVA? im working on a website (HTML) and i was wondering if there was a way i could make a HTML page, that displays all images in a folder in a gallery veiw with thumbnails,then when they click on it it opens the image in new tab....(like Google images)....... that way when i have more all i have to do is place them in the folder on ftp, and it automatically shows them without me having to Manuelly add them on each page. i can work with javascript if that has a way also, or maybe xhtml? o.o idk...please help though...sorry for bad grammer, posted on ipod touch
