Authors purpose in the book friday night lights?

what is the Authors message you supposed to take away from this book? something that doesn't have to do with racism?
i did do my assingment im just looking for other ideas
ok guys only serious answers! i dont care what u think of my question!
 
I am glad Yahoo Answers didn't exist when I was in school or I might have been tempted to use it and miss out on a lot of great books.
 
Maybe if you did the assignment and read the book it would help

EDIT: Well if you read the book you would know the authors purpose. And this is a serious answer I didn't get my education on Yahoo Answers.
