Many south asian nations if drastically increased military spending in the last 10 years and now Australia is preparing their biggest military build up since WW2 which includes: 100 fifth generation stealth capable strike fighters, 12 new submarines, 4 AWD to the RAN which are armed with Cruise missiles capable of striking 400 km from the Australian shoreline. is war coming to the south Pacific? China is becoming a stronger military power in the pacific region daily as the USA's influence in the region declines. Japan has also boosted spending in their "self" defence force due to fears of a Chinese led invasion.

China is a nation on the verge of being a super power. They are not on the warpath, nor are they being aggressive in any way. I do not expect a War with China anytime in the near future.
And good for the AUssies.. they are our close allies, a big aussie military means better military support for American troops by the int'l community.

Jimi, everything you say is true & correct, with the US seeming to have less absolute influence in the Region & China, India, North Korea & Pakistan all Arming up we have to as well. I comforted that we have we are building a destructive Defence Capability to protect our shores. We should be warey of them all, yet foster smaller Island Nations, granting Protection & be the 'eyes & ears' of the US Navy, but seriously beef it all up.
