Australia's high school from an outsider's experience?

Australians dislike people who came to their country and not get assimilated into their society, well here's what I got back in doing what the majority overseas people don't do: get assimilated into the Australian society.

In high school the people are nasty as hell, and culturally intolerable. Often they see me being different, they say shit to me, and I don't even understand they were trying to be hostile, and just smiled. Then they get even more pissed off and try even harder.

Then I understood and I begin start to think even nastier things to get them back, but initially I can't because of the language, then I could, and I fought back so hard I am sure they will never forget the pain I give back to them. One case I got the police involved, but I didn't pull the trigger to send the guy to court. Yes, that's how bad the tensions were.

I am not a mean person, but put me into a nasty environment like that, then I will find whatever it takes to survive the protect myself.

And the school I went to are all decent schools. People treat each other like shit, and I still cannot believe it.

My question is, WHY
