Agreed. I think he's confused because, honestly, I don't recall the Dumb & Dumber cartoon being popular at all. Like I said, I didn't know a single person who even saw that show. Ace Ventura and The Mask were a different story. Especially The Mask which ran for a few seasons on CBS and had life (for a while) on syndication as well. Atleast based on my observations anyway. I remember watching The Mask on CBS from 1995 till 1997 and my local WB station aired it from 1997 till 1998 (or `99) at 2:30pm, right before the Kids WB weekday afternoon line-up.
 
I watched the Dumb & Dumber cartoon, and truthfully, it was the worst of the three Carrey based cartoons.

The plot had Harry & Lloyd traveling cross country in their dogmobile (How they recovered it after the first movie is never covered) getting into misadventures with a beaver they mistakenly believed was a kitty, who was pretty much the brains of the trio.

Plots from what I can recall, involved Lloyd becoming a supergenius, the boys getting into trouble with crooks in Las Vegas, and attending Harry's family reunion.
 
I think my local ABC (?) dropped it or something because I remember watching the promos, but don't recall them actually ever airing it. I mean, well, I was never a big ABC guy to begin with, so perhaps they did air a couple of episodes and when I did finally remember to watch it they had already cancelled it. :confused:
 
There actually was an Austin Powers animated series in the planning stages. I remember running into character designs somewhere out on the web, with full explanations that the series was being considered, but ultimately dropped. I don't remember where they were (it was years ago), but I think I got to the site through Bruce Timm's official site, if anyone's interested in looking into it.

Well, at least if Meyers was to be directly involved, the characters would have been able to resemble him. That was the stipulation with having no involvlement from Carrey (And other celebs who've gone from movies to animation, like The Real Ghostbusters), was that you can't have the character look like the actual person without paying a royalty, or simply because the celeb doesn't the character to look like them.

I remember an article in T.V. Guide back when The Mask premiered, where they mentioned that Jim Carrey specifically told the producers to change Stanley Ipkiss's original design because it looked too much like him.
 
I dunno, with Bond having a second renaissance after 'Casino Royale', I think a spoof reboot of Austin Powers could work.

But I agree, I think the time has passed for an animated series.
