Audiovox 8900/8910 Data Cable Problem

I recently bought a 8900/8910 Data Cable off of eBay. When it arrived today, I was eager to do some tasks with it. I followed the instructions and installed the drivers (so I think). My problem is that the program the sync's files, ringtones, etc. will not connect to my phone. And at the bottom of my screen, I get a Windows error message that follows:

"USB Device Not Reconized... One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfuctioned and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance solving this problem, click this message."

I've clicked the message, no help... All it does is take me to the "Unknown Device Properties" with the Driver Details and such.

Sooo.... I need some help please. Can someone out there tell me how to get things working through my PC and my phone? Much Thanx! :D
 
hi there go to your device manager see if there are a modem, port and usb things there that are red flagged...if so update the drivers for each then restart...my stuff did the same thing...it still does i just ignore it until it starts to work...hope this helps
