Audi A3 Electrial wiring problem?

we think the earth points in my car (1997 Audi A3) have failed as the elec. windows, sunroof and fan are not working - the haynes mannual indicates that the earth points E1 and E2 could be the ones causing the problem - its just we can't find them... !! Anyone got any ideas as to where they are or if there is a diagram online or in any manual - the car is not worth the cost of taking it into an audi garage to fix.

Google Audi Forum - there are a couple of very good ones. Can;t give you a link to the one I use as I am at work!!
 
Sounds very unlikely that you have faults at two earth points at the same time to be honest: Sunroof & windows may well share a fuse, but I'd suspect either two coincidental fuse or wiring faults or a dislodged wiring connector somewhere.
If it's beyond your scope to fix (you have a wiring diagram in the Haynes manual, that and a test lamp or multimeter should point you in the right direction), then find a good local independent garage or auto electrician - don't ever bother with main dealers, even on a new car.
