I don't know about any huge "conspiracy" theory like you're suggesting. I just think it's a huge waste of time and money and we'll eventually have to accept that there will ALWAYS be people who hate us, for whatever reason and there's nothing we can do about it.
 
if it was such a black and white issue, you would think that a congress controlled by a single party would be able to do something other than pay lip service to the issue in an attempt to pander to voters.

You mean the money that could go to American companies and American farmers in pretty much every case except for coca? And I'm sure some big time pharmy company could figure out how to recreate the growing conditions in the Andes in New Orleans if there was enough money in it (which there is).

they just hear the rhetoric from the Dems and believe it
