Im looking at getting a new home theater system, but the one i am looking at does not have HD passthrough.Is there a way i can hook up the xbox360 so that i can hook the video part directly to the tv and get HD while connecting the audio part to the reciever for surround sound?How can I get this to work together?or is ther any other options?

The Component cables that come with the 360 are already set up for this. There is an optical jack on the cable where it connects to the 360. Take the component jacks to your TV and then run an optical cable from the 360 cable to your Surround Sound receiver.

Therefore you have sound and HD from your TV for when you can't blast the surround sound and you also have the Surround Sound Available when you need it.
