attention my fellow wops with cooking knowladge...?

I was reading over recipes for alfrado sauces b/c i have not yet delt in the world of the whites.. and i noticed one of them actually called for cream cheese... my question what does adding cream cheese do for your sauce?
It seams to be SOOO basic tho how do you make yours stand out above others?

Alfredo with cream cheese is not the real thing. Stick with the traditional recipe. It is pretty basic.
