ATT service on T-moble device

while on a trip recently I used my phone as a modem for my laptop ( worked quite well lookin up weather on the roadtrip) anyways..... I noticed that sometimes I was on ATT EDGE and could make phonecalls/use the internet..

my phone doesnt work at all at work ( no phonecalls text anything!) but when I do a search for service ATT pops up and when I do a manual connect to it it says " emergency calling only" so again...no text or anything...so my ? is WTF? why would I be able to use ATT in some places but not in others

( the kicker is there is a cell tower in our front yard at the fire station.....it's our flag pole)


no service 10 days out of the month SUCKS

any ideas why?

Okay go to mobile network and try messing with settings also try calling your service provider you might need a new phone if its a dud...~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
 
Funny thing tonight I was at the gym and noticed that my 8320 was on the ATT network. I checked my wife's pearl and who was right next to me, and she was on full tmobile edge. Any one know what may have caused this. This is the first time I have noticed my device switched networks. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
 
My phone works perfectly fine.....matter of fact since I upgraded to 4.5 its been better than ever!
I was talking about the fact that when I was on my trip I would see that I was on att network while making phonecalls and tethered modem.

That was on the trip.

At home......while at work .......I have no service.......if I go to manually search for a network the only one that pops up is att.....if I select that I get a message that it is available for emergency calls only....so why was I able to use att on my trip.....but not at home?

Hmmm weird I'm in a city and if I try to get GSM with my storm same problem but I am able to get CDMA easy I dunno...~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
 
Well I have an unlocked 8310 from at&t that's now on t-mobile. I have my connections set to data on and automatic network selection. I'm on a flex pay plan with BIS and unlimited text. But a funny thing happend to me when I couldn't pay my bill one month t-mobile cut everything off but I was still able to use my internet browser even tho the phone was off. I guess I get free internet now since I unlocked the phone. Bad thing tho I couldn't connect to rabroad without the BIS. Unlocked phones rule. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
