att data plan, microsim and iphone 4 questions?

I want to get a 32gb iphone4. I currently have no contract because I never upgraded and I want to upgrade to the iPhone 4. I have unlimited smartphone data plan and they said I cane keep the unlimited plan unless I upgrade from an iPhone to the iPhone 4. So after my friend gets his iPhone 4. He will let me use it to tell att that I have an iPhone and am eligible for the grandfathering of the unlimited plan. Do u think that this would work? And can u reserve an iPhone in the apple store or an att or best buy store and just pick it up, if so then how do I reserve one because it only says I can order one to get shfipped online. And will the micro sim work so I can use other phones such as my nexus one. Can anyone who has an adapter confirm that it works in another phone. Thanks to anyone who took their time to read this and help me out
 
You don't need to do all of that. Because you already have unlimited smartphone data on an AT&T plan, you will be able to move this to your iPhone without any issues. AT&T will not give you any trouble.

As for the adapters, I have two of them and they work great! They give you a ton of flexibility that definitely makes them worth the money.
