so i am currently with ATT, my contract ends next month in Sept. I have a smartphone, i didnt pay a data fee, because of purchasing mine through a 3rd party.only got the phone for wifi, microsoft suite mobile...but i heard that since the new data plan for smartphones are required, is it possible to have a data block....would buying an unlocked phone go around this, cuz i want to get another smartphone, but not pay the data plan...even the 3rd parties are charging for data now,...i heard that ATT can distinguish what phone you have unbranded or not, and can automatically charge you if they find out, but idk.....seems like they made a dick move for doing this...no bullshit answers...
