Atreyu

their new album sucks so bad, only redeeming track is The Crimson. Their first two (FITFOYPB and SNABK) were really good. Lip Gloss And Black and Someone's Standing On My Chest are probably my favorite, but I don't like them much anymore and their live show is terrible. He is nowhere near as deep as he is on the albums.

I find it hard to believe that there isnt already an Atreyu thread, but I searched and couldnt find it. Is anyone else digging A Deathgrip on Yesterday as much as I am? What's your fave Atreyu album?

Well thats your opinion and thanks for laying it out. I'm drawn to them through their lyrics. I don't think there meaningless but I mean its all personal experiance.

"Blow the last candle out, let the wax harden, I wish that I could stop crying and I wish that someone still loved me. Just breathe and focus, how can I when the air is so cold and empty, the lungs they froze right in my chest. Well I'll be honest, the silver linings are getting harder and harder, to manufacture and the smiles are so difficult to fake."
--Atreyu - A Song For The Optimist.

Also the screamer's voice is so cool though! When he goes really deep its like...ahhhhhh...

Another great album that I picked up. I don't have a favorite song yet, but overall it rocks. They are also doing the second stage of Ozzfest too.
I think they have improved musically on this album, they have some great solos on this album. They defintely have an Iron Maiden meets In Flames sound on this album, mixed in with some cool breakdowns. If you liked the last album, then you are gonna dig this album.

Nah, there is nothing hardcore or emo about Atreyu. I guess you'd could call them metalcore, even thought thier music has no hardcore influence.

Want to clarify, I'm not even really big into this kind of metal ( with the screaming ), so 4 or 5 songs on an album like that is impressive to me. I like when artists progress to more mature sounRAB, but LSPA was almost unlistenable to me.

I've seen Atreyu, the same concert actually at the Metro in Chicago. I personally went to see FATA, but Atreyu was awesome! Even when they were sick, they still sounded great. They even came back on stage to sing a Bon Jovi song...they did a good cover.

Agreed, It is a great album. I love the cover they do as the last song, and all the music is just well put together. It's a great pick up if you are looking for something to listen to this summer.
