saw it in the movie theater and loved it! i watched it again online and loved it as much as the first time!
i think james and keira great in this movie!

[sp]Well you know what they say about soulmates. How they can't remain long on earth without each other. How they useally die in a short span of each other.[/sp]

I did not like that ending, but I like the final scene with Robbie and Cecilia at the house... I also cried at the ending, though I was in my house.

I finally got the chance to see this movie!

It hadn't come out in my town yet until just recently. The theaters close to home still didn't have it and wouldn't for another couple of works. We ended up having to go all the way to the movie theater on the other side of town.

I really didn't have any idea on what this movie was about but when I saw it I absolutely loved it! I understand why it's getting such high praise and claim.

Briony was a very intense character. The girl that played her at 13 was amazing. I can only imagine what would have happened between Cecilia & Robbie had she not interfered.

It was interesting to see the different points of view though.

And the story line of Cecilia & Robbie was just incredible. They were together but at the same time they werent since the war split them up. Keira Knightly's performance was just...superb! I look forward to seeing her in more romance films. And James McAvoy as Robbie was also incredible. The two had some really great chemistry. You could really feel the love they had as well as the pain that they suffered.

I expected Robbie to die since he had gone off to the war but I didn't expect Cecilia to die. That totally shocked me. At least their together now in their after life.

If Keira Knightly doesn't win an award for this movie I will be shocked.

Really loved it and now hopefully I can find the book.

i cant wait to see this film!!!! Joe Wright is an amazing director!! and hes working with Keira again! :D

There is a lot of oscar buzz surrounding this movie . I Think they should get nominated based on the little clips I've seen here and there . Can't wait to watch it.

See, I've never read the book but I can completely sympathize with her in the film. It makes me sad that people who watch the film can't feel anything but hatred for this 12 year old girl who an aweful lapse in judgement. The poor girl had to live with that choice for the rest of her life.

I really want to see "atonement." It looks so romantic!

Does anybody else have more icons of "atonement?"

btw, atonement has been nominated for a couple of golden globes. I am so excited and plus Keira and James are both nominated for Lead Acting Roles.:yay:

Ive seen James in Becoming Jane and The Last king of Scotland...hes great! :D

the academy award nominations aren't out yet. i think they come out on january 22nd :D

i am rooting for atonement also even though i haven't seen the movie yet

In my local paper today (called the sun), i was reading the review for Atonement and the reviewer said that James and Keira should get an Oscar Nomination for their roles and gave the movie 5/5 :)
