Atheists in particular, do you feel like when you discuss/debate religion with someone..

...who believes...? You give educated, intelligent statements and arguments and all they do is insult you?

For example, I was debating abortion with a Christian man the other day and all he told me was that "I have no morals" and "I am an uncaring, savage animal." Nowhere in his argument did he say something intelligent, while I was providing statistics and actual proof of my stance of being pro-choice.
NOJJ - I know! Actually I made a comment about the government with abortion and I was told "Not to hide behind the government and the law". Then what should I do?? It's just like banging my head against a wall.
 
Well, I don't actually feel that bad. I feel pretty good just knowing that I'm right and that they're wrong. They don't have any proof, we do. They recite the bible, we recite statistics that we got from the government. The only thing I feel is sorrow towards them, because they are so close-minded.
 
it is generally the burden of the knowledgable and educated to pity those who wallow in ignorance==so generally speaking I feel pity towards those ignorant people trapped in superstitous nonsense
