Oh, wow, I thought that those sections would be full of questions regarding information about mythologies and folklore...

OMG I was wrong, those people actually believe in mythologies and folklore...
xD

The categories should be "Mythology, Folklore, & Religion" and a separate "Spirituality section.

Don't let what you witness anger you. Allow it to make yourself better. I say this to you, because I have seen several of your questions in the past few days. I have been where you are. The best thing to do is find the scientific evidence and reasoning for you own atheistic mindset, rather than even thinking about why others think that way. With your new gained knowledge, you can teach, not preach.

Be well and advance yourself and others by seeking enlightenment and the passage of suffering.
Live long, and prosper.

Yes. I have. But I say the same thing to them as I say here.

I agree that all theistic religions are mythology. I disagree with the position that this means they are worthless or somehow false.

Myth has broader shoulders than mere fact, to carry a larger burden of the truth.

Study why our myths define who we are as a culture. Study why they are shaped the way they are, and why, despite differences from era to era and place to place, key archetypes always manifest themselves (like a redeemer figure).

All the sacred literature of Mankind may prove that no one culture has a monopoly on truth, that no one has yet succeeded in accurately describing what we feel is divine, but the similarities also hint that humanity may, indeed, be intuiting something that is beyond our current ability to explain in naturalistic terms.

I recommend watching (or reading the companion book) Joseph Campbell's PBS, "The Power of Myth".

What do you think sucked me into this blackhole?
I was doing just fine, 4 years ago, answering questions in the Dog section and occasionally wandering in to books and authors, when, one fateful day I noticed a question on the main page, from the M&F section about Witchcraft that needed answering, So, I answered it and R&S regulars came crawling out of the woodwork and jerked me in here!
4 accounts later, here I still am, trying, unsuccessfully, to extricate myself.
Do you know the way out?
