Atheists - do we enjoy be considered experts in evolution and cosmology?

(For those of us that aren't scientists, of course).

Although - it seems to be justified. I've seen some amazing answers from fellow atheists on here.

Yes, I was thinking of Wise Duck (a biologist, in case anyone hasn't spotted him).
Person - well, to be fair, most of us can spell "religious" and "you're". Just saying.
Person - I'm not saying we are all experts, just that given the kind of questions aimed at us we are "considered" that way. You struggle with literacy, don't you?
The word "considered" is in the question. Doh!
 
I'm an atheist, and I am no expert on either subject. But I do have an interest in these topics, and I do read about them, which I think puts be miles ahead of most garden variety, faith-at-all-costs theists.
 
I need to learn more. But I know more about evolution than anyone in my grade. Well except the extreme nerds.
 
It's 50/50 for me.

I really don't know too much, just the general idea and some surface knowledge. In a way, I don't like it when people assume that atheism equals evolutionist/scientist/what-have-you but at the same time, those who have truly botched ideas of what science is have got to hear facts from somebody.
 
I enjoy it. I've read about a dozen books on evolution and cosmology, just for fun.

I've also read countless books on religion, from both sides, for fun. Strobel and Dembski are *hilarious* authors.
 
I enjoy it immensely, because it forces me to learn.

My knowledge of science is strictly "interested layman" level, but the torrent of regular questions from apologists has done a lot to improve my science literacy. Seriously, I wouldn't know half of what I know about biology or astronomy if it weren't for Creationist efforts to tear those things down.
 
Im religous and I know a hella lot about Evolution and Cosmolgy. Get the fuck over yourselves, your not as smart as you think.


EDIT: Excuse me for not giving a shit about my spelling on the internet. BTW I dont think anyone considers Atheists an expert on Cosmolgy or Evolution. You know who I consider an Expert,.... an actual expert (i.e. Stephen Hawking). But I guess your superiorty complex is just acting up.


EDIT 2: Not my fault you didnt keep that clear. And no actually I dont struggle with literacy at all, its just hard to understand what someone says when they write something but mean something else.
