At your court hearing for a DUI, Do you have to have all the money right away?

I have a friend who was charged with a DUI. He is worried about not having the money to pay all the fines by the date of the hearing. Can they throw him into jail if he doesnt have the money or will they set up a payment plan? In Michigan.
