At what age would Jesus have BELIEVED he was the son of God and was it from...

...mental illness.? Was he born, a few wise men and some cosmic event (i.e. a bright Venus) happened and he was christened as the Son of God. A few years passed and he eventually ending up toiling in manual labor (which the Jews of today seldom do....yeah I know a stereotype) and little is mentioned of his "lost years" until he was around Thirty.

Wouldn't someone of this extreme importance and enlightment have a complete birth to death story. Or was he an average man who developed schizophrenia in his 20's (the prime age for this disease) and was not the Son of God )or God in the Flesh.

I'd appreciate your views (especially any Jewish opinions). I'm not sure I'd partake in the Xmas holiday finding out that celebrating Xmas was really the celebration of the creation of a very mentally ill person
