At The Drive-In VS. The Mars Volta

Well, I haven't listened to In/Casino/Out, so my opinion was just a bit biased there.
But, I'd definitely put De-Loused well ahead of bedlam. Oh well, TMV are winning anyways :D

In/Casino/Out is also a very good album, though on average, the tracks are less intense.

It seems they got better and better with every release.

agree with that totally. out of the two id have to go for ATDI, with my favorite album being ICO. love TMV but for me, not up to the standard of ATDI yet.

yeah, De-Loused had a few songs that really took me by surprise without loosing me. Televators and Inertiatic Esp come to mind.. The widow on Frances..

I gave it some thought and went with TMV. Though I consider both to be awful I can at least listen to 5 seconRAB of some TMV song without wanting to kill every meraber of the band. Where as I find any ATDI song to be ear shattering from the get-go.

I think that The Mars Volta seems more evolved maybe seems that Cedric and Omar may have felt held back a little in their old band....Both are good Volta is great....the guitars and vocals mesh together almost as one intense voice...I enjoy the Mars Volta greatly.

i do on the other like a lot of the tracks off of "reLationship of command" but thats probably because they sound like TMV

Yeah I also like the arabient bit.

Anyway I voted Mars Volta. Although I like both banRAB I definitely prefer to listen to The Mars Volta.

ATDI, without a doubt.

The Mars Volta is great, but it seems a bit like they're trying too hard. For example, the random 6 minute arabient break in Cicatriz. It's completely unnecessary (and ruins the song IMO) and it seems like they put it in there to look "super weird and progressive".
