AT&T acquiring Verizon markets, HELP?

I got a letter the other day informing me that I will soon no longer be a Verizon customer because AT&T is acquiring the market in my area. I DON'T WANT AT&T! I have a multitude of reasons but the top three include AT&T's lack of an unlimited data plan for smart phones, I have a LOT more friends on Verizon that I can currently talk to/text for free, thus eliminating the need for the more expensive unlimited messaging plan, and lastly I get a 20% employee discount for working at Sam's Club with Verizon whereas with AT&T I would only get 10%.

I bought and activated the phone up at school (which is the market that AT&T is acquiring) but I put the billing address as my parents house, which is in an area that is not getting taken over. Will I be able to do anything to keep my Verizon service, even if it means getting a phone number based near my parents house? I wanted Verizon for specific reasons and I REALLY don't want to be stuck with AT&T for 2 years.
