The absorption lines for a cool thin gas are identical in wavelength and frequency to the emission lines of the same gas if hot enough to glow.

True or False?
 
Yes, that's absolutely true.

Generally, for a thin (dilue) gas, it emits light at the same exact points that it absorps it.
