Aristotle said that the Earth was in the middle of the universe and that everything went around it. CoPernicus said that the sun was in the middle of the universe and that everything went around our sun. the system we have today has the earth and other planets orbiting the sun and the solar system orbiting something else and that orbiting something else and so on and so forth.
