astronomy- moon's declination?

Is there a limit for how high the moon appears in the sky? I mean i understand it would ascend at a constant rate when it is waxing for example, but then when it reaches a maximum height (if there is one) does it simply descend at the same constant rate? Also is there a way to tell in what phase the moon is at this maximum vertical point?

obliquity of the ecliptic + moon's orbital inclination

the maximum declination is when the moon's line of nodes coincides with the equinoxes. draw a picture to see why.
