Astro Boy movie teaser trailer now online

Got a first look at Dr. Elefun in that trailer. Hope the character designs don't end up drifting too away from the look of Tezuka's originals.

Wow, that looks GREAT. Not to mention the fact it seems to stick to Tezuka's original designs, for the most part.

Count me in. Can't wait to see more.

Not bad. Imagi did the awesome CGI Ninja Turtles movie back in 2007, so at the very least this movie should have great animation and action. The cast, while celebrity-laden, at least has celebrities with talent (Freddie Highmore, Donald Sutherland, Nicolas Cage, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy), so I'm not too worried. Overall, Imagi's Gatchaman project interests me more (not least because it has PAUL DINI onboard as a writer), but this looks like fun.

Crap. I wouldn't say Imagi's output looks bad (remeraber, they pulled the plug on the mega-generic-looking Cat Tale), and I'm pleased that they're actually trying to make movies that don't hew to the standard animated film formula.

Another new teaser for Astro Boy. Shows off the voices and more footage. Nicholas Cage sounRAB good as Tenma. And I was surprised Astro's voice is kind of deep. But, works for me. *shrug*

I like how there's a youtube commenter cursing out CG and claiming that a classic has been "ruined" and that this should have been a cartoon. Right, because this definitely isn't animated. ARGH.

Anyhow, I'm still planning to see it, considering that this still looks like it's decently well done and pretty faithful. Unlike a certain upcoming live-action movie that shall not be named...

The only complainant I'm having is the art designs. I mean, IT'S CGI! It can't be hard to animated the same design like in the original. But thats nit-picking. So far Imagi's did a decent job at TMNT, I'm not to worry about this film. I'm sold.

I said “Nit-Picking”, it's not a big deal anyways.

But I'm a little sad a lot of Animated movies are becoming CGI now...2-D IS NOT DEAD, BRING IT BACK TO MOVIES!

Sorry, back on topic.
