Astraweb upgrades retention to 365 days

fuck no... 98.99% of shit on all the servers is copyrighted.. IF anything someone alerted them of illegal porn and I hope they'd take that out.

Obviously. But if a copyright holder submits a proper DMCA notice to the usenet provider, they will have to comply to meet the safe harbor requirements. So I've heard speculation that GN has complied at times but I'm curious if that's the case and if Astraweb has too.

Something isn't right in your stats, from Astraweb's Add a group page:
Usenet News Server - Add a Group
alt.binaries.cd.image.highspeed already exists. It has not been queued for addition. Please refresh your groups list in your browser.

I'm guessing that 50Mb connection is with Virgin Media? I've heard of a few people being able to max it out (47-49Mb/s) with astraweb, so you should be able to. :)

Yup Virginmedia ;).. So yeah before I head back down the torrent root I'm going to give Astraweb a try at beggining of next month when my giganews runs out and see how it goes.

Thanks for advice.

Excellent news. I am so glad I got on board with astraweb. They are by far the best and the cheapest.

@The Mighty Newzbin is a great resource to have combine that with this site and nzbsrus and nzbs.org and you will have all bases covered.

I could be wrong but I think if they have US servers they pretty much have to comply, however I think the copyright holder has to submit a certain file to be removed and given the fact that the same file with a different name will be up shortly after in most cases it's probably a moot point. Thankfully the majority of people still beleive that P2P is where all those nasty pirates get their ill gotten goods so I think usenet is still largely ignored.

astraweb's plans are quite nice.
i would have joined giganews, but then discovered that their prices are only valid for a month...
astranews here i come.

Would you recommend paying for either Newzbin or nzbrus to take advantage of the 240 retention listings? On Nzbmatrix, for example, you can't download NZB's older than 20 days unless you become a ZIP member.

I would recommend paying for newzbin. It is dirt cheap and during the holidays you can get it half off. Right now it is like 2 dollars a month. Nzbsrus is also dirt cheap but still allow 4 nzb downloads a day for free. If you have the means pay for both they are great resources. I have really no experience with nzbmatrix maybe someone else who deos will chime in. If you can only pay for one I would say nzbsrus, but I am partial to the layout and speed of nzb pre's there.

you shouldnt recommend things mate, since your telling people to pay for something they can get for free on another site..

To may people newzbin is worth the price.
Myself being one that believes so. I usually jump in on the half price sale in January, and it cost less that $20 for a year.

just use search sites like nzbindex.nl, binsearch.info, newzleech.com extc...use rar names to search and if its there youll find it

indexers are easier to find stuff if your new to nzbs...but anything thats on indexers are on search sites plus more that doesnt get posted to indexers
