I live in Wisconsin and my asthma is pretty bad year round, in the winter because cold air (single digits or lower) is one of my worst triggers, and in the summer because I have a lot of trouble with mold, and the humidity encourages mold growth. My only other known trigger is smoke, and apparently I don't have any allergies (according to two different pulmonologists, one of them from Mayo Clinic). I've been looking at different places to move to that would be better for my asthma, and Arizona seems to be one of the best. I'm not talking about Phoenix or Tucson--I already know those wouldn't be a good idea. Mainly the two areas I'm thinking about are the Prescott area or around Sierra Vista. Both are at an elevation of around 5,000 feet, so it wouldn't get so hot in the summer, and they're far enough away from major cities that pollution shouldn't be as much of a problem. I spent 2 months one summer in a very hot, dry part of Colorado, so I know the dry heat doesn't bother me. Does anyone live around these areas, or know where I could get statistics for things like levels of dust, smoke, etc in the air? All I can find is pollen/allergen levels and pollution levels/air quality for the bigger cities. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
