Associates in the arts or arts education?

I'm about a semester or two away from getting my Associates in the arts from a community college. It is transferable of coarse. BUT I was actually considering changing it to Associates in the arts education .I would just need to take a few extra classes to get my arts education(associates) and then I figured I can transfer to a college near here and get my Bachelors in arts education. My question is should I just wait till I finish up my Associates in the arts and then take a few of the extra classes and earned the arts education. Does it work that way? Or would I need to retake all of the classes for it to count for arts education.

If you want to change to art education, you should do it before you finish. Go ahead and officially change your major and take those extra classes now because for some schools (you mite want to verify for yours) they will only take so many credits from other degreee programs (even if with the same school). So if you finish up you arts and then change to do art education, you may have to take more than just a few extra classes. You cant retake the same classes of course, but if you already took algebra for a math, then you would have to take a geometry next time. So if youre gonna switch, do it now. But always check with your college advisor.
