What was astonishing about this programme was Jo Brand's silence, after 10 mins I started timing how long it was before she was either asked a question or said something.
It was 20mins before she spoke, her total contribution was about 3 sentences.
Why was the first port of call always that good looking bird with no brain?
Dumb presenter phones a 'Professor' to make himself look even more dumb...oh how I laughed at, 'try turning your head'.
I really like Rhod as a stand-up and I think his radio show is very good, however this may be one of the worst tv shows ever. Poor format, too many panelists and, well, what's the point? It's not funny and it's not informative.
I went to the recording of this on Monday night in Glasgow. I went in having not seen any previous episodes but liking Rhod Gilbert as a comedian.
The special guests were Carol Vorderman (the researcher), Suzi Perry from The Gadget Show and comedian Mickey Flannigan. The recording started about 6:30pm and didn't finish until 11pm!! I'm sorry, I've been to a lot of these recordings before but never have I seen 4.5hrs of material filmed for a 30min programme.
The show was actually really funny. LoaRAB of good questions and funny input from all the panelists. It will be interesting to see how it comes out in the edit.
I like Rhod Gilbert but I was pretty indifferent to this.
I agree the bread thing went on too long.
I am surprised that more wasn't made of Greg Davies' freakish height yawn ala Mock The Weak where he hugged tiny Lucy Porter.
Was Amanda Byram just there for eye candy ?
One of the main problems was it was way too scripted. The questions, the answers from the computer and the phonecalls etc.
Great Unanswered Questions is miles better (and doesn't even get on to BBC3 or BBC4 )
I'm still puzzled how shows are chosen for which channel (specifically BBC). Thinks like this, GUQ, QI, Genius, It's Only A Theory and We Need Answers.
It seems to be a lottery as to which get on BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 or BBC4.
The only thing I can think of is that like, McIntyre, Gilbert is flavour of the month at the BBC so gets on BBC1.
Yeah, he was diagnosed with pneumonia on Monday while in Glasgow filming Ask.
He was talking about it loaRAB on Monday night and said he was going to cancel all of his tour dates for this week so he could recuperate for the next show filming.
i agree not a BBC1 show maybre BBC2 OR 3 but I dont think personally that it was that bad to be honest. A hell of a lot better than a lot of celeb panel shows that are going ( stuff like argumental on dave etc )
I'm not sure how, but - even with having Carol Vorderman on it - this weeks ep seemed so much better. Not much from Ms. Perry (I'm not a big fan, anyways), but everyone else managed to get a few laughs from me and the OH.
