...under all circumstances .? And yet it is always the religious conservatives who are for the death penalty and make an exception.

Killing - to them - is perfectly acceptable under certain circumstances

Strange that isn't it? Religious people are usually pro death penalty and will support the killing of another human being *under certain circumstances*

I am an atheist and often derided for that by the far right religious people (as if being godless is a sin) and yet I am against the killing of a person under all circumstances. However by the way they talk here on GWS they seem to be happy to pull the switch that sends a lethal electric current painfully through a condemned man or woman or the lever that opens the trap door to deliver them to a swiftly broken neck.

Left wing people tend to be kinder and more forgiving - though stronger and more intelligent and usually more educated than their right wing trailer park counterparts.

We believe killing is wrong under all circumstances - that's a kinder way isn't it?

Christians and conservatives seem to relish the taking of a life utilising capital punishment as a way of .... making thmemselves feel good ....? Is that it?

Sadism veiled in bible study.

probably the most misquoted and misunderstaood part of the bible is the commandment that says "thou shalt not commit murder". Actually, that commandment seem to be just about the ONLY part of the Bible "against" killing

once again....go vent on your blog

"I am against the killing of a human being under all circumstances .?" LOL

"Left wing people tend to be kinder and more forgiving though stronger and more intelligent and usually more educated than their right wing trailer park counterparts."

calling people weak ,dumb, and less forgiving trailer park people is part of your Left wing compassion???

Yes, you are very kind an intelligent. But what if it was your sister? What if she was doing no harm to anyone at all and some thug took her out right in front of your eyes because he needed a getaway car? What if it was her kid, too? They catch the guy. Would you advocate for the death penalty then? If you would say "I do not want this man to die because he just made a mistake" then you are incredibly forgiving. Personally, if I heard about that, I would think he "deserved" lethal injection. And I don't know your family. Or you. Any time anyone kills, they are doing just that. It might not be your family, but it's someone's family. If someone killed my sister right in front of me, would you rally support for their right to live?
