Ashes 1st test (flat wickets)?

Test cricket needs this series to be one for the memories. But why are they creating flat wickets all often, its boring also when its a slowish wicket. Doesnt everyone agree they like a wicket thats got pace, bounce and fast outfield. This is the last thing this series needs. Agree???
 
Home team wants to play safe.

But yesterday Clarke and North slowed down the game by scoring at a slower rate which enabled the English bowlers to come back. Now the English are defensive and are further slowing down and makes the game dull.
