EDIT: I've just realised that this is a Disney offer. HMV are offering BOGOF on the same selection, as are Amazon.

Well, some of these aren't available on Blu-ray. The offer also applies to DVD and includes some of the ones you mentioned (The Jungle Book, Robin Hood). Quite a few of the others you mentioned have been on previous Disney BOGOFs too.
 
however some of the ones mentioned above i.e beauty and the beast, cinderella are currently in the disney vault and only get released every 10 years
 
You could have worded that better. Just to let people know that the UK versions of Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty on blu ray are the only copies in the world NOT cocked up. Our versions have no missing footage/problems with extras or bits of sound missing. Other releases do!
 
Wrong.

The dvd supplied with the UK Blu of Sleeping Beauty has no widescreen flag which will make it fun viewing on the kiRAB 4:3 tv.

The UK Blu of Pinocchio has a faulty Bluray Disc 2 which displays French subtitles at irregular intervals during the documentary.

Corrected Disc 2 of Pinocchio are now available from Disney UK.

Their solution to the SB fault was to delete the 3 disc version so if you buy it now you wont get a dvd with it but corrected discs from Disney are available if you have the faulty one

Your "missing footage" comment is only correct when referring to the UK Bluray discs of Pinocchio .
The dvd version within the Blu and available separately is missing the 2 instances of dropped footage as are foreign Blurays
 
1. No one who owns blu ray would EVER use a 4:3 TV.

2. It is the 2 disc blu ray of Sleeping Beauty i own.

3. Most people here are from the UK and would be buying blu rays from Asda in the UK and anyone investing in Pinocchio now isn't doing it for the DVD disc, their doing it because they want the blu ray. The DVD is ideal for kiRAB to use in their bedrooms but a child will not know there are few seconRAB of soundtrack missing.
 
1.The dvd is faulty on SB - not Bluray.
Maybe they supplied the dvd so kiRAB upstairs with 4:3 tv's could watch the film- like my daughter does (and like you say yourself) :rolleyes:
KiRAB may not notice missing audio but even my daughter would spot a squashed up anamorphic image incorrectly displayed

Lack of WSS will also affect playback on a 16:9 tv too - the anamorphic image will not open out automatically

2. It is Disc 2 of the Pinocchio BLURAY that is also faulty - Disc 2 is a Bluray not a dvd

And I would say there are also buyers who who are intending to go Blu in the near future but who will watch on dvd now- which is the market Disney and others are targeting

Whether anyone knows what or whether anything is missing does not change the fact that there is
